Vacation Bible Camp 2010

This year we are proud to continue our summer vacation bible camp sessions.  Started in 2008, the summer vacation programs offered here at St. John's provide a fun and safe environment for our children to continue their Byzantine Catholic studies.  Previous programs have included studies of the prophets, the development of icons and iconography, an examination of the Byzantine church, the practices of the early church and our ethnic traditions. We also take nature hikes, regular trips to the local playgrounds and have special game and fun times together.

There will be two sessions offered this year. The first session is June 21st to 25th and the second session is from August 25th to 27th.

Beginning on June 21st our students will enjoy a full week of fun activities while learning more about their Byzantine faith.  Camp activities are held Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the ECF school here at Church.  We will be focusing on the dedicated Year of the Priest with special sessions by Fr. Nick.  Other activities will include fun crafts, daily liturgy, baking and learning about the roots of our traditions and practices.

The second session beginning on  August 25th is a shorter term with activities held from Wednesday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the ECF school here at Church.  This session will focus on stewardship of the church and what it means to be an active member of the church community.  We will also prepare for the upcoming church picnic on Aug 29th.

All are welcome to attend and parents are asked to provide a packed lunch for their children for each day.  For more information please contact Bill Tarapchak at 610-385-1309.
